Solid performances at Czech Cycling Tour

In the blink of an eye, the Czech Cycling Tour has finished. After four days of racing, Leopard Pro Cycling's Jan Maas and Szymon Rekita placed themselves in position thirteen and fourteen overall.

It all started with a very strong team time trial on the opening day, where Leopard took eighth position out of twenty teams, just over one minute behind WorldTour team Mitchelton-Scott. In the following two days, the riders had challenging terrain to cover, but since both stages had flat parts leading up to the finish line, bunch sprint finishes were inevitable. With Jan and Szymon not losing any time, all was to play for in the final stage to Šternberk, with three extremely demanding and hilly local laps.

The whole team did a great job in supporting Jan and Szymon until the end. One can imagine that the race was on fire when the riders approached the first climb of the local laps. Nevertheless, Leopard's climbers were able to stay in front with the best riders of the race. There were only four riders that were able to escape in the very last part. In the end, both Jan and Szymon miss the top ten of the GC by only ten seconds.

Jan Brockhoff: "We can look back to four days of good racing and great teamwork. Everyone played a key role in supporting our leaders, who were aiming for top results in this Czech Cycling Tour. We can be satisfied by the performance of Jan, Szymon and all other guys. If we can show this mindset and performance in the upcoming races, great things can happen. I am therefore looking forward to the next races on the calendar."
