Dutch talent Jan Maas joins Leopard Pro Cycling

With great joy, Leopard Pro Cycling confirms the signing of Jan Maas. The Dutch rider comes from SEG Racing Academy, after being a trainee with Team LottoNL-Jumbo in the past months.

Maas brings WorldTour experience to Leopard Pro Cycling

In 2015 Jan Maas (22) was picked up by the well-known Rabobank development program after showing very good and consistent performances as a junior, in this period he for example finished second at the Tour of Flanders. At the Rabobank Development Team, Maas continued to perform with amongst others a sixth place at the U23 Giro di Lombardia. It is no surpise that Maas describes himself as an allrounder that enjoys tough, demanding races. Maas combines a big engine with climbers legs, which he showed at SEG Racing Academy at Flèche Ardennaise (7th & 10th), Ronde de l'Isard (9th & 13th), Paris Tours U23 (10th) and more. Team LottoNL-Jumbo offered Maas a traineeship in the last few months in which he also was able to show great performances. At Leopard, Maas - who has a Bachelor's degree in Sports Marketing - is already looking forward to have great results in the biggest races of the year.

Jan Maas: "I chose to ride for Leopard in 2019 because this team in a really professional UCI Continental team that offers a very nice race calendar. At this team I want to further develop myself after I already notice that I already improved after the traineeship at Team LottoNL-Jumbo. I expect that I will be able to race a lot of finals and then the results will follow themselves. I am looking forward to races such as Circuit des Ardennes, Tour Alsace and the Tour de Luxembourg, in which I really want to show myself."

Markus Zingen, Team Manager: "We are very happy to add Jan Maas to our roster for 2019. Jan has already proven himself in the past years and we hope that he can continue his development as a rider at Leopard. We are all looking forward to working with him and we will fully support him. I am sure that we can expect some nice results from him in the bigger races. That a rider of his caliber chooses for Leopard means that we are well and truly on the right way with the team."
