Counting down to the 2022 season

We are still quite a few weeks away from the official start of the new cycling season. However, behind the scenes all is coming together to make it yet another successful year.

Leopard Pro Cycling can look back to 2021 in a rather satisfying way. Let’s be honest, that the race calendar stayed intact for almost the entire year is the greatest success of them all. Next to that, the riders added more joy with good results on the road and that with the youngest overall age (21.7 years old) in the entire Leopard history.

We are not here to mention every single race result from this season, but some deserve extra recognition. Arthur Kluckers took for example the U23 Luxembourgish National Championships title in both the time trial and the road race and finished the highly-rated Course de la Paix in fourth overall. Or: Miguel Heidemann, who took silver in the German Elite National Time Trial Championships, only to be beaten by Tony Martin. Filip Maciejuk did the same in the Polish Championships and won both the L’Etoile d’Or and the Carpathian Couriers Race not long after. And last but not least, Jan Maas who was so consistent with top results at the Istrian Spring Trophy, the Tour de la Mirabelle, the Oberösterreich Rundfahrt, the Tour Alsace, the Sazka Tour and the Skoda Tour de Luxembourg.

Also in 2022 we will hit the road with a bunch of very promising talents. In recent weeks we have seen both Filip Maciejuk (Team Bahrain-Victorious) and Miguel Heidemann (B&B Hotels) make the well-deserved next step in their career. Next to them, the likes of Loïc Bettendorff, Patrick Haller, Edvin Lovidius, Jan Maas and Tom Paquet will no longer be part of the team next season. Their future plans will be announced in short notice. Riders who are staying are listed down below. We are excited to see what they can offer in next year’s campaign. What about Tim Torn Teutenberg who is eager to show his fast legs? Can Arthur Kluckers make the next step as a GC contender? And will we see Jarno Mobach in the classics in the same great shape as he ended this season? Just to name a few. Time will tell!

Markus Zingen, Team Manager

"We can look back to 2021 with a good feeling. We were able to construct a very strong team that was willing to sacrifice for each other. There were some great results this year and following this, we are happy that already Filip and Miguel were able to make the step up. We will keep following them and we are sure that our experience and support from the past years will help them on the pro level. For 2022 the team is coming together very nicely. There will be again plenty of potential in our ranks and we will now focus on the last details in order to have everything set for another successful season.”
