First day of free practice in Jerez for the Leopard Racing

Jaume Masia has finished the 9th on the combined standings of today at the Circuit of Jerez and teammate Dennis Foggia the 19th.

It’s more than nice to be back on track and in business! We are finally doing what we like the most even if it’s under very specific conditions after the outbreak of the Covid19 pandemic. First things first and that means safety: very few people at the circuits and masks, goggles and all kind of measures to ensure that everyone is safe and sound at the end of the day.

In sporting terms, it’s fair to say that racing in Jerez at this moment of the year is quite critical due to the high temperatures, but that won’t stop us from doing our best. Early in the morning when the track was cooler, Dennis Foggia and Jaume Masia have been testing different elements to be ready for Sunday’s race. Masia has finished the first session quite pleased, being the 9th. On the other side of the box, Foggia has decided he preferred the previous elements he had on his bike.

Then in the afternoon and after the second session of practice, Spaniard Jaume Masia has finished the 9th and Dennis Foggia the 19th on the combined standings of the day. Still some work to do, but what is clear is that our bike is fast, Foggia and Masia have set the 2nd and the 4th maximum high speed of the day (213 and 211.3 km/h).

It’s time to think on the qualifying! Who will be the fastest tomorrow?

Jaume Masia, 9th (1’46.523)

“I’m happy because it’s been a positive day but we still need to work on my pace with used tyres. Let’s see how tomorrow goes, my plan is to fight to directly go to Q2 and do a great job”.

Dennis Foggia, 19th (1’47.038)

“This morning we’ve tried some things that I didn’t like. Then in the afternoon, after changing them I’ve felt better during the FP2. I haven’t set a perfect lap and I could’ve done better, but I’m confident and I think we can do a good job to be ready for the race”.
