First recruit for 2022: Elias Maris
For the first time in four years, Leopard Pro Cycling will again have a rider from the cradle of cycling in its ranks. Welcome to Belgian Elias Maris!
The 22-year-old Maris joins the team, coming from Basso Team Flanders. He can be described as an allrounder, who has quite the punch in his legs, also after a hard and demanding race. Racing on hilly terrain – in the Ardennes for example – are amongst Maris’ favorites and it is in these circumstances that the Belgian can be a dangerous card to play. In recent years, Maris has been performing very consistent in Belgian races, but in the 2021 season he was able to show his potential in international races as well: he won the 4th stage of the Giro del Veneto, he took the second stage and the overall win at the Vuelta a Madrid, there was a stage win at both the Tour de Moselle and the Arden Challenge. Let’s hope Maris can continue on these results in 2022.
