Heiderscheid finishes 8th at GP Lillers

After 187 kilometers of racing on French roads, Leopard Pro Cycling concluded today's GP Lillers with position eight for Colin Heiderscheid. The team showed a very active racing style.

The race summarized
Already in the first local lap, the breakaway of the day was formed. Four riders - without Leopard - attacked  and created a gap in tough windy and wet conditions. The GP Lillers had many different race scenarios with lots of counter attacks taking place. Jan Maas and Arthur Kluckers were involved in some moves, and at one point there were four Leopard Pro Cycling riders in a chasing group of only 25. From this chasing group, six riders managed to get themselves in the lead and just stayed clear of the bunch. Leopard's Heiderscheid showed once again his fast legs by finishing second in the bunch sprint, leading to an eighth position.

From the finish line: Colin Heiderscheid
Colin: "I am very happy with my first top ten result of this season. I notice that my shape is getting better each race, so this gives me confidence for the upcoming races. Also our racing style today does that. We were very active, we followed and created a lot of attacks, but somehow we missed the group that made it to the line. All in all, we can be happy with today's performance."
