Jarno Mobach close to top result at Dorpenomloop Rucphen

There was no top result for Leopard Pro Cycling in today's race. However, it was very close since Jarno Mobach was only caught back at 2.5 km from the line.

The Dorpenomloop Rucphen (UCI 1.2) summarized
It was an action-packed race today in The Netherlands. Since we are still very much into the opening phase of the season, many teams and riders were eager to give it their all. Together with the sometimes dangerous winds and Dutch road furniture, quite of lot of crashed happened in the early racing kilometers. It was in this part of the race where a front group of three formed a gap to the bunch.

Fast-forward to about 80 kilometers from the finish. The trio in front were caught back early as the pace in the peloton was high. Two new riders managed to go up the road, but also their efforts proved to be hopeless against a strong bunch.

As the race approached the finish, a dangerous five-man move was brought back in time, but then the Dutchman Maikel Zijlaard attacked with 10 kilometers to go. He quickly had a big gap and Leopard's Jarno Mobach sensed that the peloton was not going to make it. He went into the counter-attack and stayed in front of the peloton for quite a while. In the end, Mobach was not able to catch Zijlaard who won the race. Unfortunately, the peloton reeled Mobach back in as well, leaving the team with empty hands, but with grown motivation for upcoming races!

Jarno Mobach, did an amazing move in the final

"The race started quite hectic with here and there some smaller echelons. To be honest, I had to find my rhythm at first, but then in the final hour everything clicked. I could race comfortably and I just tried to attack. It's a shame that I was brought back by the bunch, but at least I tried to get a top result. On to the next!"
