Justin Wolf adds experience to Leopard’s 2022 team

With already six season on the UCI Continental level under his belt, 29-year-old Justin Wolf will play an important role in supporting the young prospects at Leopard Pro Cycling.

The signing of Justin Wolf is a rather unusual one for Leopard Pro Cycling. Whereas normally the team looks to bring in some of the biggest young talents, the team management decided to opt for some experience this time around. Justin Wolf has been active for the Bike Aid team in the last three seasons, but the German was already around in the UCI Continental circuit back in 2013. Wolf can be described as a rouleur with a good time trial who has been racking up good results in the past three years. His biggest result so far was the European title at the Mixed Relay, together with amongst others Leopard’s Miguel Heidemann. In 2021, he almost repeated this victory, but this time around, the German team crossed the line as second best. Next to this, Wolf has shown his hard pacing qualities at the time trials of the Tour of Qinghai Lake (4th), the Chrono Champenois (2nd), the Chrono des Nations (twice 9th), the German National Time Trial Championships (various top 10 results), the Turul Romaniei (1st and 3rd in the prologue). In the 2021 season, Wolf successfully managed to stay in front of the peloton on three occasions: at the Tour of Mevlana, the Belgrade Banjaluka race and the highly-rated Tour de Bretagne where he won after a 60 kilometers long solo effort.

Justin Wolf

"I had a very good 2021 season and I would like to continue on that in 2022. The most important goal of the year is to – like always - keep the passion for cycling high. Then I know that results will follow. I like to win some races again next year and also the national championships are being held close to home, so there I want to good for a good performance as well. Next to that I am looking forward to bring my experiences over to the younger riders at Leopard Pro Cycling. I hope to help them grow as much as my new team will help me to grow as well."

Markus Zingen, Team Manager

"We are excited to add Justin Wolf to our team for 2022. Yes, he is a somewhat older signing for us, but with some experienced riders leaving the team to the pro ranks, it’s important to have an additional routined rider to help the youngsters. If you look at his results from the past seasons and know his story, then we can be sure that there is a lot of potential and that also his own development is still not over. We are confident that he will fit well into our team and it gives us another dangerous card to play as he has shown that he knows what it takes to finish off a race.”
