Leopard Pro Cycling prepares for 2021

With just two weeks left to an eventful 2020, Leopard Pro Cycling is happy to present an update prior to the upcoming cycling season.

As one can expect, there are still quite a few ifs and buts regarding the 2021 campaign and how it will exactly shape up. However, what is certain, is that Leopard Pro Cycling will start the season as a UCI Continental team, consisting of twelve riders. As it stands now, Leopard will start the season again in Turkey for the Tour of Antalya, before heading to Croatia for the Trofej Umag, Trofej Poreč and Istrian Spring Trophy.

Eight riders of the current squad will kit up again in the blue, black and white, namely: Loïc Bettendorff, Colin Heiderscheid, Arthur Kluckers and Cedric Pries from Luxembourg, Patrick Haller and Miguel Heidemann from Germany, Jan Maas from the Netherlands and Filip Maciejuk from Poland. These eight, will be complemented by four new, strong riders.

The arrival of new riders is, of course, contrasted with the departure of others. In recent weeks, Leopard Pro Cycling was proud to bring up two of its riders to the WorldTour level as Mattias Skjelmose Jensen and Mauro Schmid joined respectively Trek-Segafredo and Team Qhubeka ASSOS. Next to them, Szymon Rekita says goodbye to the team after four very solid years. He joins the Polish Voster ATS Team. Bas van Belle leaves for the Dutch Wielerploeg Groot Amsterdam side and also Misch Leyder, Ken Conter and Emil Lindgren will no longer be part of the team next year.

The four new Leopard riders will be announced before the 31st of December. Stay tuned!

Markus Zingen, Team Manager

"We are happy with the team of twelve riders that we have created for the 2021 season. Even if Mattias and Mauro were brought up to the WorldTour, we were still able to keep the core of the team intact. We are convinced that we have again a good mix of youngsters and more experienced guys who are all looking forward to show themselves next year, since they did not have that many chances this year. Also a very big thank you to our loyal and new partners. We are aware that the current situation makes it not easy to invest in our project. Thanks to them, we were able to make yet another step forward this off-season. Together, we can't wait to give it our all again in 2021."
