Signing #3 for Leopard Pro Cycling: Tim Torn Teutenberg

German Tim Torn Teutenberg will ride for Leopard Pro Cycling in 2021. The 18-year-old talent will debut at the UCI Continental level, joining from the German Rose Team NRW.

Tim Torn Teutenberg can be described as a true allrounder who likes to perform in hard and technical races with short climbs. He showed this particular skill set already in 2019 by performing well in races such as the Keizer der Juniores, the SPIE Internationale Juniorendriedaagse, the Internationale Cottbuser Junioren-Etappenfahrt and the Tour de Gironde. In the latter, Teutenberg finished second overall, only beaten by Carlos Rodriguez, now a rider at Team INEOS. In 2019, Teutenberg also had very strong results on the track: the second place in the madison at the Junior World Championships and the victory in the elimination race of the Junior European Championships!

In 2020 Teutenberg showed great progression. Not only were there again very good results on the track - second (Omnium) and third (Madison) at the Junior European Championships -, but also on the road the results came thick and fast. A consistent year led to the victory at Rund in Spich, second at Ilsfeld-Auenstein, third at the Junior German Road Race Championships, third at the Autohaus Baldsiefen race, sixth at the Junior German Time Trial Championships and eleventh in the GC of the well-known Grand Prix Rüebliland, one position behind Leopard's recent signing Mats Wenzel. Being so consistent led not only to a contract at Leopard Pro Cycling, but also to the second place in the U23 Rad Bundesliga overall classification.

"My goal for the 2021 season is to have a solid start in the U23 category. I mainly want to further develop as a rider and it would be a bonus if this led to already gettig some good results. I am happy to join Leopard, because they have proven many times that it is one of the best development teams for young riders who want to become a professional cyclist. Leopard is a reputable name in cycling and a good take-off board to the upper class teams in cycling."
