Transfer news: two Danes added to the 2023 team

The 2023 team is increasingly taking shape. As signings two and three, we present Mads Østergaard Kristensen and Oliver Knudsen. The Danes join from respectively Team ColoQuick and Restaurant Suri-Carl Ras.

Mads Østergaard Kristensen has been riding in the black and white of Team ColoQuick for the last three years. In this time, the 24-year-old has impressed on many occasions. Being an allround rider that always goes all-in, he was able to gather some proper results like for example his win at the difficult GP Herning in 2021. With countless top tens at various Danish National Championships and finishing amongst the first riders in races such as the Giro della Valle d’Aosta, the Tour de Bretagne, the Fyen Rundt and the Ringerike GP, the believe is there that 2023 can have big things in store for him.

Oliver Knudsen can be best described as a rider that excels in tough conditions. The Silkeborg born likes also the punchy climbs and his good kick has proven to be a strong weapon. The 23-year-old was the most combatitive rider at the third stage of this year’s Tour of Denmark after a monster attack of 230 kilometers. Two more notable results are his 8th place at the Ringerike GP and finishing runner-up in the U23 Danish Road Race Championships back in 2019.

Oliver Knudsen

“2023 is set to be a really important year, both for me and the team. We hope to be at the start line of a lot of difficult and big races and perform there. Personally, I would like to get my first UCI win in 2023, but I am also looking forward to help my teammates in getting the best results possible. I am super excited for this project between Leopard and Riwal, which is a very big step forward for both parties.”

Sebastian Andersen, Sportive Manager

“I am really happy to get to work with Mads. He is a strong rider, that rides his races according our philosophy. He is always on the attack and always seeking his possibilities. I genuinely hope that we are able to fulfil his potential and make the most of it, since he is a very brilliant bike rider. Next to him we have Oliver. With the right program, this strong puncheur and lightweight rider will be able to show his strong sides. He has already made good results in hard races, and therefore we believe that Oliver is going to show his worth."
