A weekend to forget for the Le0pard Racing

It’s been a weekend to forget. Le0pard riders Dennis Foggia and Jaume Masia hasn’t been able to finish the race of the Grand Prix of Andalucia at the Circuito Angel Nieto de Jerez.

To say that was expected would be a lie, because although some ups and downs throughout the weekend, both riders had the potential to finish the race on top10, at least. It seemed that yesterday things started to go a little bit better despite qualifying positions (P10 for Masia and P23 for Foggia).

Today, when it was time to crunch, things haven’t gone right. On one side, Jaume Masia has crashed on the seventh lap of the race. According to the rider, he was trying to set an specific strategy to avoid contact with one of the rivals. This attempt has costed him the race. After crashing, he’s tried to rejoin it but in the end hasn’t been able to finish. And on the other side, Dennis Foggia, who was fighting to make a comeback from the 23rd position of the grid, has had to retire due to a problem with his bike’s clutch. He hasn’t felt good from the very beginning and finally he’s entered to the pits before the end of the race. Needless to say it’s been a weekend to forget.

Our technical director, Christian Lundberg, has mentioned that Masia’s mistake has been a sham, as today the team was very competitive, and that Foggia's clutch burned at the. start of the race. Today’s ray of sunshine has been our bike’s speed: again, both bikes have ended up being the fastest of the race.

That’s been a wrap! Now it’s time to think ahead, so stay tuned and follow us until the upcoming race; the Grand Prix of the Czech Republic scheduled for the 9th of August.

Dennis Foggia, N/C

“At the beginning of the race I felt that I had a problem and couldn’t change gears. We need to keep working because I don’t feel right on the bike, I was always over the green patches, so we need to work and let's see how it goes”.

Jaume Masia, N/C

“It’s been a shame because I finally felt strong during a race. I wanted to put another rider between me and a third one that was always disturbing, and that has jeopardized my race because I took that turn faster than I should, and the front end of the bike got closed. I’m so sorry for the team, we will try again in Brno”.
