Paquet and Morang final Luxembourgers for 2023

As a result of the merger between Leopard and Riwal, we can today announce the signing of the final two Luxembourgers in the 2023 team: Tom Paquet and Mil Morang.

Tom Paquet is no stranger. As a stagiaire, he was already part of the Leopard Pro Cycling team back in 2021. Paquet has quite the punch in him, which makes him a dangerous rider in a variety of race scenarios. This year, the Luxembourger rode to a stunning seventh position in the GC of the Flèche du Sud, which was a confirmation of the capabilities he showed at the 2021 U23 European Championships, where he took position twelve after a demanding race. Before, he already became Luxembourgish Champion in the junior ranks.

A rider who will make his debut on the UCI Continental level is Mil Morang as he comes straight from the junior ranks. The 18-year-old is a rider that doesn’t shy away from the attack. He is at his best in hilly and hard races with shorter climbs. 2022 has been absolutely amazing for the Luxembourger. Not only did he crown himself as National Road Race Champion, he also was there in the toughest races of the calendar: 3rd at the GP Bob Jungels, 6th at the GP Général Patton, 8th at the GP Luxembourg and 6th in the GC of the Ronde des Vallées after finishing second in the final stage.

Tom Paquet

“I am really excited to ride for this team in 2023. When two of the best UCI Continental teams combine, I think it can only be a success for all. The past season I rode a lot of bigger races in France. I learned a lot and I am sure that it helped me to grow as a rider. For 2023 let’s hope that myself and the team are able to compete for the victory on many occasions.”

Mil Morang

“For 2023 I did not really set any goals. It is important that I learn a lot from my team mates and help gathering the best results for the team as possible. I am looking forward to further developing as a ride. At this team I have the best chance to do this, as they both have proven experience in making young riders better.”

Sebastian Andersen, Sportive Manager

“Tom Paquet has a massive talent. In this year’s Flèche du Sud he made a big impression on us, but especially at last year’s European Championships – which was a very hard race - you could really see his potential. I am looking forward to working with him and getting the best out of his performances. Also Mil is an incredible talent. He did a good World Championships in Australia, which concluded a very solid season for him. For 2023 he will get the room to learn a lot in order to fulfil his potential in the longer term.”
