The Leopard Racing has closed the 2019 chapter in Valencia after an amazing season: Lorenzo Dalla Porta as the 2019 World Champion, Marcos Ramirez the 3rd on the final standings and the Team’s title. What a year!
Yesterday was a day of mixed feelings for the Leopard Racing. From one side, the race didn’t go the way we expected as after the first stages, a red flag had to be shown due to a massive crash involving many riders. This didn’t help neither Marcos nor Lorenzo, which were trying to do their best on their last race in Moto3 and had to enter to the box awaiting for the resolution of that tricky moment. When it was time to restart and hopes were high as for the performance of the weekend, Lorenzo Dalla suffered a big crash some laps after that second start. It was huge but the rider ended up ok, which is the most important thing. Teammate Marcos Ramirez finally crossed the line the 7th after battling on the front group. When he entered to the pits after the red flag, he decided to change tyres for the second race and that jeopardized his victory and podium chances. He didn’t deny and in the end Marcos is the 3rd of the 2019 Championship.
On the other side, the Leopard Racing is so happy of pointing out the great race our wildcard Xavi Artigas did. Not only showed a good performance, but took the 3rd position of the race, a massive congrats for our young and promising junior rider on his appearance in Valencia. Xavi will race again with us on the Leopard Impala Junior Team, but always thinking on stepping to the official structure in 2021.
It was a day to remember. The crew put the final touch at the MotoGP FIM Awards in the Palacio de Congresos of Valencia, as it’s customary every year. Both the team and Lorenzo Dalla Porta had to take their prize and that was a moment of joy for everyone.
And last but not least, a big thanks to all the people working on the team and to all the people supporting us and cheering for us. From the sponsors to the management, the technicians, the mechanics, the crew of the hospitality… Many thanks to everybody who made it possible. This is a real family. Let’s hope for the best next season and best of luck for our Champion Lorenzo Dalla Porta and for Marcos Ramirez who will step to Moto2!
