Difficult day for the Le0pard squad as Dennis Foggia has crashed at the very first turn of the race and teammate Jaume Masia has ended up the 10th
Indeed has been a very hard weekend. The practice sessions were quite tricky and inconsistent, as our riders managed to set fast lap times in some, and then finished on unusual positions in some other sessions.
Today, when it was time to crunch in the race, Dennis Foggia (started from 19th) had very bad luck as another rider touched him from behind and pushed him to the gravel just at the beginning of the race, at turn 1. Fortunately the rider is ok, which is the most important thing as the crash was quite severe. On the other side of the box, Masia, who seemed to have better pace during the weekend despite some difficulties, finally crossed the line the 10th. He’s managed to score some valuable points for the Championship, but that wasn’t the expected result.
From the technical point of view and according to Masia’s data, the Spanish rider set a 1.46’8 record on his 19th lap, that means it was possible to be consistent during the race, but considering rivals, track temperature, and other conditions, it was difficult not making mistakes. Those little things have compromised the final result and finally Masia has clinched the Top10. The positive thing is that he’s just finished three-seconds far from the first, and there are still many things to improve.
After today’s final result, the Leopard Racing is the 4th on the standings with 26 points, Jaume Masia is the 4th too, with 19 gathered points and 31-points-far from the leader, and Dennis Foggia occupies the 13th position, with 7 points.
Many races to go, many things to improve, many moments to live! See you all next week, again, in Jerez for the next round!
