Le0pard Racing will start tomorrow’s race at Phillip Island from the 3rd and 8th spots on the grid, on the first and third rows, with Adrián Fernández and Ángel Piqueras respectively:
- Cool temperatures and light rain greeted us for Saturday of the Australian Grand Prix.
- Practice 2 kicked off in the morning in the wet. Although the conditions were difficult, Ángel Piqueras was able to improve, finishing the session in 1st position by setting the fastest time so far, a 1’44.682. Adrián Fernández, on the other hand, struggled to improve his time, suffering a crash in his second run and finishing in 19th place on the combined with his 1’47.062 from Practice 1, having to go through Q1.
- For the first time in dry conditions this weekend, qualifying got underway later in the afternoon.
- Running his first laps in dry but windy conditions, Adrián Fernández made it through Q1 in 2nd place with a time of 1’36.810. The Spaniard kept it consistent later in Q2, leaving it to a last flying lap to set the 1’36.023 with which he qualified 3rd to start from the front row tomorrow.
- Ángel Piqueras, for his part, struggled a bit more in dry conditions, but was able to set a 1’36.423 on his final lap to start tomorrow’s race from the 8th spot on the grid on the third row.
