Grand Prix of France: Sunday

Le0pard Racing completes the French Grand Prix with David Almansa and Adrián Fernández crossing the finish line in 5th and 8th position respectively:

  • Le Mans dawned today under cloudy skies, with an early rain that stopped before the race, which was declared dry. 5th on the grid, Adrián Fernández had a challenging start to the race, dropping to 11th position. David Almansa, on the other hand, held on to 9th.
  • Adrián Fernández quickly made his way back up, moving up to 5th with 12 laps to go. David Almansa, for his part, also started to move up positions, placing 7th by then.
  • Halfway through the race, the two Spaniards lost some positions, but fought for them back. With 6 laps to go, Adrián Fernández started to struggle as he dropped to 8th position, while David Almansa had already recovered to 5th.
  • Trying to close the gap with the rider in front until the end, David Almansa stayed 5th, finishing today’s race in that same position, while Adrián Fernández did so in 8th place.
  • Silverstone is up next in two weeks time.
“Today was not the day we expected. I struggled a lot in the early stages of the race, especially when it came to overtaking. When I had the chance, I started to push and found a good pace, but it wasn’t enough after that difficult start. Today we got a needed 5th position, but I know we could have done better. See you at Silverstone!”

“Despite a bad start to the race, I felt very good on the bike today, being able to recover the positions lost, improving my pace every lap. Towards the halfway point of the race, I started to struggle, unable to maintain the pace, not being able to finish the race in a better position either. We take some points from Le Mans and look forward to Silverstone”
