Grand Prix of the United Kingdom: Saturday

Le0pard Racing will start tomorrow’s race at Silverstone from the first and eighth rows of the grid, with David Almansa in the 3rd spot and Joel Esteban in the 23rd:

  • Silverstone dawned today under cloudy skies, with wet conditions awaiting for Free Practice 2 this morning. David Almansa started the day strongly, improving until the very last lap to finish 3rd with a time of 2’21.534. Joel Esteban, for his part, found a good feeling as well, finishing 10th with a time of 2’23.097.
  • Qualifying was held in dry conditions in the afternoon, with Joel Esteban pushing in Q1. The Spaniard couldn’t make it through it in the end, having clocked a 2’12.142 to qualify in 24th place. David Almansa, who went straight into Q2, was able to put in a 2’09.966 on his last flying lap, qualifying 4th.
  • Due to the penalties given after Q2, both riders move up one position on the grid, meaning that David Almansa will start from 3rd on the front row, while Joel Esteban will do so from 23rd.
  • We can’t wait to race!
“Saturday ends with a bittersweet taste for us. We started the day strongly, very comfortable in wet conditions this morning, leading most of the session. However, today’s qualifying left us wanting more. We have the pace to fight tomorrow, and we will give our best”

“Although we didn’t get a better result today, I’m happy because we were able to take another step forward, especially in terms of riding style. I couldn’t put in a good full lap in qualifying and missed out on Q2, but in spite of it, I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s race, because that’s where I’ll be able to understand the bike better”
