Grand Prix of Indonesia: Sunday

Le0pard Racing completes the Indonesian Grand Prix with Adrián Fernández in 6th position, demoted from 1st with a 6-second penalty, while David Almansa crashes past the halfway point of the race:

  • From pole position, Adrián Fernández dropped to 3rd on the start, soon overtaking to take the lead of the race. David Almansa, for his part, went from 7th to 8th, quickly recovering to 5th.
  • Adrián Fernández held onto the lead as David Almansa made his way into 3rd, both being overtaken one position with 16 laps to go. A few laps later, Adrián Fernández had already retaken the lead, while David Almansa had dropped to 7th as he attempted to climb back onto the podium fight.
  • In a busy final stages of the race, David Almansa crashed from 7th position, causing a crash for which he has been penalised with a Long Lap Penalty for the next Grand Prix race. 
  • Adrián Fernández was overtaken to 2nd with 8 laps to go, going wide to place 4th. The Spaniard quickly made his way back up to 3rd, overtaking for 2nd five laps from the end. With 3 laps to go, Adrián Fernández retook the lead, being involved in a crash when he was in 1st position that resulted in a 6-second penalty, finishing today’s red-flagged race in 6th place.
