Another round is now done and dusted, and what a weekend it’s been for Le0pard Racing! Once again, Sunday has been a rollercoaster of emotions, from Jaume Masià’s podium in 2nd position after an amazing race, to Tatsuki Suzuki’s crash in the early stages of it:
- Starting from pole position, Le0pard rider Jaume Masià was cautious and clever in the beginning of the race, securing himself in second position. From 10th on the grid, teammate Tatsuki Suzuki had a good start to the race, recovering some positions and placing himself 6th after the first laps.
- When running 6th, Japanese rider Tatsuki Suzuki suffered a big highside at Turn 5 with 10 laps to go, which prevented him from finishing the race. Thankfully, he was back on his feet right after the crash.
- In the meantime, things remained as they were in the leading group, with Masià in 2nd position waiting to make the move into 1st. With 4 laps to go, the Spaniard made the move, but he was soon overtaken again.
- It was at that moment when a crash from Ayumu Sasaki in the lead made Jaume Masià go backwards trying not to clash with him.
- Then in 5th position, and with a gap of 1.129 between him and the rider in 4th, was when Jaume Masià made a spectacular performance giving his 200% to recover the whole gap in less than two laps, catching the leading group with 2 laps to go.
- Battling in a breathtaking last lap, Jaume Masià conquered the 2nd position to claim his first podium of the season.
- Now Europe awaits! See you in two weeks time in Jerez!
