A very difficult Sunday in Austria

A completely difficult Sunday at the Grand Prix of Styria, the worst of the year so far. And that’s why:

  • This morning we woke up with one of our riders, Xavi Artigas, having an inclusive Covid test result. We waited for the medical check-ups and finally, he resulted positive. Obviously, Xavi had to miss the race.
  • To point out that following the Dorna protocols and suggestions, the whole team (including Xavi) is vaccinated and will now undergo further tests.
  • On the other side of the box, Italian Dennis Foggia, who started from 6th position, had a bad race: he lost some positions at the beginning and finally crossed the line as the 22nd. The positive thing about this situation is that he’s 4th in the championship, and he still can fight for a good final position at the end of the season.
  • Xavi is fine, he feels good and doesn’t suffer any symptoms.
It’s been a difficult race in which I didn’t feel good to push and get the result we wanted. Track conditions weren’t the best and overall was a very tricky race. We’ll try again next week!”
Dennis Foggia,
22nd
