Adrián Fernández steps onto the podium in second place at Termas

The Argentina Grand Prix comes to an end as Adrián Fernández takes the podium in 2nd place, while David Almansa crosses the finish line in 6th:

  • Starting from the 4th spot on the grid, David Almansa had a good start to the race, taking the lead on the first lap. Adrián Fernández, starting from 12th, lost some positions.
  • The battle soon began as David Almansa was overtaken for 3rd, while Adrián Fernández had already started his way up, sitting in 8th with 14 laps to go. David Almansa hit the front again, but the fight continued while Adrián Fernández was already 4th. With 10 laps to go, both Spaniards were at the front in 1st and 2nd position.
  • The continuous overtaking resulted in a challenging final stage of the race, with the two Le0pard riders losing some places, but fighting them back. Adrián Fernández, on a smart last lap, was able to make a final overtake to take a second-position podium today at Termas, his second podium out of two races. David Almansa, for his part, completed today’s race with a 6th place.
  • See you in Austin in two weeks time!
“Second race, second podium! We have had a very good start to the season so far and I’m very happy. We need to keep taking points, because the season is very long, but for the moment we are working in the right direction. What is true, of course, is that we still have to work on some details, like qualifying, to improve our weekends in general. Today I just want to thank my team and my family for their hard work and support. I’m already looking forward to Texas!”

“I finished today’s race with a bittersweet taste. I felt quite comfortable, having also a good rhythm, and I’m happy with the race I did because I was able to be in the fight from start to finish, leading for some laps, fighting at the front… However, I went wide a few laps from the end and then made some mistakes that made me lose positions, crossing the finish line in 6th position at the end. We will definitely take everything we learnt from this race into the next one in Austin”
