Le0pard Racing will start tomorrow’s race at the Malaysian Grand Prix from the first spot with Adrián Fernández, who took a record-breaking first pole position today, while Ángel Piqueras will do so from 7th on the grid:
- Saturday kicked off with partly cloudy skies and dry conditions at Sepang.
- With a strong start to the day and improving from early in the session, both Le0pard riders secured their Q2 seats in Practice 2.
- Adrián Fernández, despite a few drops of rain, set a new lap record as he lowered his time on a last flying lap, topping the combined with a 2’10.102 ahead of teammate Ángel Piqueras, 2nd with a time of 2’10.284.
- The afternoon came with dry conditions for qualifying.
- Adrián Fernández left it to a last flying lap to storm the timesheets with another all-time lap record, claiming his first-ever pole position in the lightweight class with a time of 2’09.542.
- Ángel Piqueras, for his part, will start from the third row of the grid in 7th place with a time of 2’10.512. A crash towards the end of the session prevented him from improving further today.
