Lorenzo Dalla Porta clinches victory in Malaysia, the third in a row for the Italian rider. Teammate Marcos Ramirez crosses the line the 6th after some bad luck when he was fighting for the podium.
Three out of three! Leopard rider Lorenzo Dalla Porta has commanded the three races in a row of the calendar! He’s won in Japan, Australia (where he took the World Champion crown) and now he’s repeated it again, although today hasn’t been easy at the first stages of the race. Starting from seventh spot, he’s lost some positions and needed some laps to recover them. The crucial moment was when three riders of the front group had a crash: Dalla Porta managed to escape from the trouble and after some turns he placed himself in the lead. For the rest of the race, rivals tried to overtake him, but Lorenzo and his Honda were unbeatable: fast, strong and powerful. It was precisely due to that crash he took benefit from, that Marcos Ramirez lost his chances. At that point he was third but always swapping positions with the other riders, and when those three crashed just in front of him, he had to run wide and therefore lost many positions. Marcos was being super fast and strong, but in order to avoid ending up on the gravel, he saw himself relegated to the 13rd position. In any case, he didn’t give up and finally crossed the line the 6th. He will keep fighting until the end for the runner-up spot of the final classification, as he’s the 4th on the standings (174 points) but mathematically he could still grab the second position.
It’s been another magnificent weekend for the Leopard Racing. Good practice sessions and another amazing victory in the pocket, as they say. The team right now has it all: a very fast and reliable bike, the Team’s title, Lorenzo’s crown, and if that wasn’t enough, the team counts on an amazing bond that links every single person to get those results. Team work makes the dream work. See you all in Valencia in two weeks time.
