Australian Grand Prix: Saturday

Le0pard Racing will start tomorrow’s race from the third and sixth rows of the grid, with Adrián Fernández in 8th and David Almansa in 18th:

  • Saturday got underway at Phillip Island with mixed conditions for Free Practice 2. Adrián Fernández was 2nd this morning, setting a 1’35.178 early in the session before it started raining. David Almansa, for his part, finished in 10th with a time of 1’35.734.
  • A dry but tricky Q2 was in store for both Spaniards. Adrián Fernández qualified in 8th place with the 1’34.584 he set on his first run, as well as David Almansa, who set an early 1’35.454 to sit 18th on tomorrow’s grid.
“We couldn’t put in a better lap in qualifying today, but the feeling was still great, which is the most important thing looking into the race. We’ve been working hard to prepare ourselves because we know it will be a very tight race. We have the pace and the determination to give it our all tomorrow!”

“It’s been a difficult day. We had another crash this morning when it started raining during Free Practice 2, and then in qualifying we couldn’t get it right. I was finally improving on my last flying lap, but it was cancelled due to a yellow flag. We’ll keep working and do our best tomorrow”
