Saturday is done and dusted at Assen as Ángel Piqueras takes his first-ever pole position in the lightweight class, while teammate Adrián Fernández will start from 8th on the grid tomorrow:

  • Sunny skies welcomed us this morning for Practice 2 at the Dutch Grand Prix.
  • Both Le0pard riders took to the track focused on securing their Q2 seats, which they both achieved.
  • As the lap times started to improve, Ángel Piqueras set his fastest time of the weekend up to that moment, a 1’39.777 with which he sat 2nd on the combined. Adrián Fernández was 9th on the combined after lowering his mark to a 1’40.050, showing a solid pace throughout Practice 2.
  • The afternoon came with Q2, where both Spaniards pushed from the very beginning.
  • Improving progressively, rookie Ángel Piqueras left it to a last flying lap to storm the timesheets with a time of 1’39.746, taking top spot and claiming his first pole position in Moto3.
  • Adrián Fernández, for his part, will start tomorrow’s race from the 8th spot on the grid in the third row after setting a time of 1’40.254. The Spaniard aimed to improve further, but a crash on his last run prevented him from doing so.
  • The most important day of the weekend awaits!
