Grand Prix of Catalonia: Sunday

Le0pard Racing completes the Catalan Grand Prix with David Almansa and Adrián Fernández crossing the finish line in 4th and 5th place respectively:

  • On a good start to the race, David Almansa took the lead from pole position while Adrián Fernández remained 5th, quickly moving up to 2nd place three laps into the race.
  • As the laps went by, David Almansa held onto the lead, but was overtaken to 2nd place halfway through the race. It wasn’t long until the Spaniard hit the front again. Adrián Fernández, on the other hand, had dropped to 7th, being overtaken to 9th, but recovered back to 5th.
  • With 3 laps to go, David Almansa was back in 2nd, but a change in positions saw him drop to 5th as Adrián Fernández had made the move into 3rd. It was a continuous battle until the end, with David Almansa crossing the finish line in 4th place and Adrián Fernández in 5th in the end.
  • See you next week in Misano!
“I’m very frustrated. Today was the day. Everything was in place, the mindset, the feeling… We fought every corner, managing the race very well, but once again we missed out on the podium. We were having a great weekend, but we couldn’t put the icing on the cake. We’ll try again at Misano”

“It wasn’t the result we were hoping for. We gave it our best shot, we tried every overtake, every move that could get us closer to the podium, but it wasn’t enough. We’ll keep working hard for next week’s race in Misano, but today I can’t say I’m at all satisfied with the result”
