Grand Prix of Hungary: Friday

The Hungarian Grand Prix got underway today at Balaton Park, with Adrián Fernández and David Almansa finishing Friday in 6th and 11th position respectively:

  • Overcast skies and windy conditions welcomed us today for Free Practice 1.
  • Both Spaniards made the most of the session to test the new track, progressively improving their time and feeling. Adrián Fernández finished 5th with a time of 1’47.760, showing a steadier pace in his second run. David Almansa, on the other hand, was 8th this morning with a 1’48.134, not being able to finish the session due to crashing at Turn 2.
  • Friday ended with a productive Practice, in which the two Le0pard riders secured their seats for Q2. Adrián Fernández set a 1’47.074 in his third run to sit 6th today, while David Almansa clocked a 1’47.407 to finish in 11th place.
  • See you tomorrow for qualifying day!
“Balaton is a really cool circuit! We took to the track for the first time today and I really liked it. We still need to improve a few details, because we’re struggling to maintain our pace and we’re not managing to be consistent enough when doing two laps at the same rhythm. We’ll focus on that this afternoon, but so far I’m happy with the work we’ve done today”

“I really like this circuit! It’s very different compared to the rest of tracks in the calendar. As for our performance, today was a difficult day. We didn’t get the results we wanted and we struggled to put together a good full lap. However, I’m confident that tomorrow we’ll take a big step forward, and I’m determined to do so!”
