Grand Prix of Indonesia: Friday

Landed overseas, the fifteenth round of the season got underway today at Mandalika as Le0pard Racing finishes Friday in 2nd and 8th position respectively with Adrián Fernández and Ángel Piqueras:

  • Sunny and warm conditions greeted us for the first day of action of the Indonesian Grand Prix, with both Le0pard riders heading out on track this morning for Free Practice, where tricky conditions awaited.
  • Ángel Piqueras started the day strongly, topping the timesheets with a time of 1’38.799 on his first time out in Mandalika. Adrián Fernández, for his part, suffered an early crash, but was soon back in action to finish Free Practice in 8th position with a time of 1’39.668.
  • The afternoon came with more action in Practice 1, where the two Spaniards continued to work on their feeling and rhythm.
  • Ángel Piqueras struggled a bit in comparison to the morning, finishing in 8th place with the time he set on his last lap of the day, a 1’38.533.
  • Adrián Fernández, on the other hand, found some improvements, showing a steady pace and finishing Friday in 2nd place with a time of 1’38.096.
  • See you tomorrow for qualifying day!
“Today’s been a very positive day! We have been able to put in a consistent pace with used tyres and improve both in terms of lap time and feeling. We are starting to be consistent on Fridays, but we still have to work to maintain that consistency throughout the whole weekend”

“My first day at the Mandalika International Circuit has been good. We need to keep working on the bike to improve some details towards qualifying. With that, I’m confident we can be there this weekend as well. It’s my first time here and I like the circuit a lot!”
