Le0pard Racing will start tomorrow’s race at Motegi from the fourth and fifth rows of the grid, with Adrián Fernández in 11th and Guido Pini in 14th:
- Finding improvements early on today, Adrián Fernández finished Free Practice 2 in 6th position, setting a 1’55.282. Guido Pini was 17th this morning, improving to a 1’55.993.
- Successfully making it through to Q2, Guido Pini finished Q1 in 1st place, clocking a 1’55.322. The Italian pushed in Q2, but a crash at Turn 5 on his last flying lap prevented him from improving further, qualifying in 15th place with a 1’55.731. Adrián Fernández, for his part, qualified in 12th position with a time of 1’55.548, also crashing on his last flying lap.
- Following penalties, both riders move up one position on the grid, with Adrián Fernández starting from 11th and Guido Pini from 14th.
- Let’s race!
“This morning we went out on used tyres in Free Practice 2. We switched to new tyres and it went quite well, the feeling was good, although there was still some room for improvement. The team and I worked very well together to take a step forward in qualifying, but things don’t always go the way we plan, and today they didn’t. The feeling with the bike has improved quite a lot, so we’ll keep working in this direction. I’m sure we’ll get there, giving it our all in tomorrow’s race!”
I’m happy with how today went despite the result. I had a good pace this morning, and in Q1 I was able to put together a very good lap on my own, finding a good feeling. Unfortunately, I crashed in Q2 and couldn’t set a better lap. We’ll start from 14th position, so our goal will be to make up as many positions as possible. I feel good with the bike, so I’m confident we can have a good race.”
