Grand Prix of the Americas: Sunday

Le0pard Racing completes the Grand Prix of the Americas with a difficult Sunday, with Adrián Fernández and David Almansa finishing today’s race in 12th and 13th position respectively:

  • Cloudy skies welcomed us today at the Circuit of the Americas.
  • Starting from the back of the grid due to a problem on his bike before exiting the pits, Adrián Fernández pushed hard in the early stages of the race, strongly overtaking to make up positions. David Almansa, for his part, had a good start from 18th, placing 11th on the first lap.
  • Given a Double Long Lap Penalty due to jumping the start, Adrián Fernández, who had already recovered to 11th position, sat 20th. In the meantime, David Almansa continued his way up, moving up to 7th halfway through the race.
  • The final stages of the race were challenging for David Almansa, who struggled as he dropped positions, crossing the finish line in 13th place at the end. Adrián Fernández, on the other hand, was able to maintain a steady pace until the end, finishing today’s race in 12th position.
  • See you in Qatar in two weeks time.
“Not a day to celebrate. I just want to thank my team for their incredible work, for never giving up, especially today. I was able to go out on track, but in my haste I made some mistakes, both at the start and on the first lap. I tried not to give up, telling myself that I could always push a bit harder. I’m not happy with the result, but I feel very lucky to have the team that I have”

“It has been a tough race for me. I had a good start, moving up places, catching the reference and trying to brake a little later, giving my everything. Then I was leading the group in 7th place, and that’s where things started to get complicated because I didn’t have the pace. I started to struggle a lot to keep the rhythm I had in the previous laps, being overtaken to finish in 13th place today”
