Grand Prix of the Netherlands: Sunday

Sunday at Assen comes to an end for Le0pard Racing with David Almansa finishing in 6th place while Adrián Fernández crashes in the final stages of the race:

  • Sitting 3rd on the grid, David Almansa lost one position on the start, quickly recovering it and moving up to 2nd on the first lap. Adrián Fernández, for his part, struggled in the early stages of the race, placing 14th.
  • As the laps went by, the battle at the front became tighter, with David Almansa fighting inside the podium places. Adrián Fernández, putting in a fast pace, had already moved up into 6th with 14 laps to go.
  • Dropping to 4th, David Almansa was overtaken by teammate Adrián Fernández, who soon entered the podium fight. With 7 laps to go, David Almansa overtook Adrián Fernández for 3rd, but a few corners later, both lost positions again in a continuous battle.
  • Adrián Fernández, who had dropped to 10th, recovered to 6th in the final stages of the race. With 2 laps to go, the Spaniard couldn’t avoid an incident that occurred just in front of him, crashing as well, not finishing today’s race.
  • David Almansa, on the other hand, recovered quickly and took the lead of the race twice, but then went wide dropping to 13th, pushing to finish today’s race in 6th position in the end.
  • See you at the Sachsenring in two weeks time.
“All things considered, we were lucky today. We were there, fighting at the front, keeping our focus. With 2 laps to go, I had a moment when the front end started to close, which made me go wide and lose any chance of a podium today. In the end, we finished in 6th position, but it was not the result we wanted”

“It was another difficult Sunday for us. After pushing hard to get into the fight for the podium, we were once again involved in a crash. I just want to thank the team for their tireless work. It’s not being easy, but we won’t give up”
