Guido Pini takes maiden Moto3 victory in Austin

Le0pard Racing completes the Grand Prix of The United States with a maiden victory from Guido Pini, becoming the team’s 12th different winner, and a 5th position for Adrián Fernández:

  • From 7th on the grid, Adrián Fernández had a good start to today’s race, sitting 4th on the first lap. Guido Pini, for his part, lost some positions on the start, going from 5th to 9th.
  • Setting a fast pace, both Le0pard riders moved their way up in a tight fight, with Adrián Fernández overtaking for 3rd and Guido Pini for 4th on Lap 3.
  • With a massive overtake, Guido Pini got into the podium fight in 2nd place on Lap 6, whilst Adrián Fernández dropped to 4th. The Spaniard was overtaken to 5th, while the Italian pushed to take the lead with 3 laps to go.
  • The battle went on until the very end, when Guido Pini, although he had dropped to 4th at the beginning of the last lap, made a strong move in the last corner to take his maiden Moto3 victory, becoming Le0pard Racing’s 12th different winner.
  • We can’t wait to see you in Jerez!
“We have done it! We have achieved our first Moto3 victory. It was an amazing weekend, but I have to say that the race wasn’t easy at all. I was really fast on the first sector, but Quiles was quite strong in the rest of the corners. Despite this, I got to take the victory after a tight battle, and I’m really, really happy. It’s an amazing feeling. We will enjoy this result, but we still have a lot to learn to keep what we are building going!”

“It’s been a bit of a difficult race. At the beginning I was feeling great, trying to push as much as I could. I knew it was going to be a small group at the front, so I tried to stick to it. The first laps went well, but the feeling went from more to less as the laps went by. I was struggling when braking, not being able to maintain the pace we previously had. We take an important 5th position home, looking forward to Jerez”
