He’s done it! Le0pard rider Jaume Masia has won the Moto3 race at the Grand Prix of Aragon! Solid points for Dennis Foggia after finishing 10th.
All right, we needed this victory! The Spaniard has done an amazing race starting from the 17th position of the grid, being clever and consistent, controlling the situation and not making mistakes. The 19-years-old from Algemesi (Valencia) has taken his first victory with the team and the second of his career on Spanish soil, and bearing in mind that this weekend’s been one of the most complicated of the season so far, that’s been the best reward, we couldn’t ask for more. If taking victory wasn’t enough, Masia becomes the 100th different winner of Honda’s history. From now and forever his name is written in the books alongside great riders such as Mike Hailwood, Wayne Gardner, Valentino Rossi, Marc Marquez, and former Le0pard World Champions Danny Kent, Joan Mir and Lorenzo Dalla Porta. Such a milestone, well done Jaume!
Today Masia has managed to impose his pace and what’s most important: he’s controlled the momentum, he knew when he needed to wait, push or overtake. That’s part of our spirit: to do things at the right moment. On the other side of the box, Italian Dennis Foggia had to recover many spots after having a difficult start too, he was relegated to the 23rd position and was able to get to the middle group as the laps went by showing consistent performance. Rivals didn’t make it easy and the front group was quite far at the end, therefore he’s finally crossed the line 10th.
After today’s results, Jaume Masia is the 6th on the standings (108 points) and Dennis Foggia the 12th (69 points). Great news is that the Le0pard Racing is the leader of teams’ classification having gathered 177 points up until now!
Now it’s time to take a day off and charge batteries because in just seven days we’ll be racing here again!
