Positive Friday in France

Le0pard rider Jaume Masia has finished the 4th on the combined standings of Friday practice sessions and teammate Dennis Foggia the 15th at the Circuit of Le Mans.

Here we are ready for the French round of the 2020 season! When heading to the country, there was a common saying among paddock members: “whatever, it always rains in Le Mans when we have to race there”. Well, the saying is completely true as the first session this morning has been under wet conditions and the second one under mixed. Clouds have been the main characters of the day, as well as low temperatures. Considering that, it was tricky at some points to understand whether the track was dry or wet, whether to change tires or not, but the riders and the crew have worked pretty good and fast to make the most. Fair to say that the team has a wide experience on these situations!

Overall the riders have been consistent in both sessions and in their respective pace: Masia has finished the 6th in the morning and the 4th in the afternoon, and Italian Dennis Foggia the 16th and the 15th respectively. To point out that Masia’s best record (1’45.436) has been just 0.6 far from the first classified: that means we have solid options! And although Dennis has suffered a little, we need to bear in mind that having a wet tarmac never helps and therefore all riders have ridden slower than usually. To sum-up, there are very positive expectations this weekend, let’s take one step at a time and let’s see how it goes!

I’m happy because I’ve felt competitive in both conditions (wet and dry). I would like to have a dry day tomorrow but in any case I’m working on having a better feeling under the rain as I’ve struggled a little bit more. Can’t wait to enjoy the rest of the weekend!”

The conditions today have been quite weird and I hope to ride on dry asphalt tomorrow. I haven’t had the best feeling with wet surface and we’ll keep working to go straight to Q2, I would like to take the best spot possible for Sunday’s grid”.
