Top10 for Jaume Masia on Saturday

Jaume Masia will start tomorrow from the 10th spot of the grid and teammate Dennis Foggia will do it from the 23rd position.

It’s been a challenging and interesting Saturday at the Circuito de Jerez Angel Nieto! According to Dennis Foggia’s laps of yesterday, the Italian man occupied a Q2 spot and had to secure it today during the FP3, but hasn’t been possible. Therefore, Foggia has had to fight throughout the 15 minutes of the Q1 and finally, despite trying hard, he’shas classified the 23rd (1’46.939) due to some traffic found on his time attack and will start tomorrow from that spot of the grid.

On the other side of the box things have gone better. Jaume Masia, who had a difficult day yesterday, has improved and even though he felt motivated and comfortable to do better, he’s found some traffic too, hasn’t had the perfect feeling with his soft tyre, and has finished the 10th. Things this way, he will start tomorrow from the 4th line of the grid. The bright side in Masia’s case is that even with some mistakes, his feelings with the bike are very positive.

Last but not least, it’s important to bear in mind that Le0pard bikes have been the 1st and 2nd fastest of the whole event so far: Jaume Masia has set today during the Q2 a 215.1 km/h speed and Dennis Foggia during the FP3 has gotten up to 214.7 km/h. That means there’s still room to improve and without any doubt they will try to do a very nice job tomorrow. From the technical side, our director Christian Lundberg admits that overall the feeling with hot temperatures has improved, that both riders have set a nice pace with used tyres and that they’ve experienced some bad luck in their respective fast lap attempts. To sum-up: despite not having classified on top, both riders have the tools to recover tomorrow.

Stay tuned and let the show begin! The race is taking place tomorrow at 11.00am CET and we can’t wait to watch it!

It’s been a shame because I felt quite good in terms of race pace, even after making some mistakes. I didn’t have the perfect feeling with hard tyre at the beginning of the QP and I’ve had some moments. Then, after wearing the soft option, I’ve felt a little nervous, found another rider in front of me and couldn’t be faster. It’s been a mix of unfortunate things, but I know I could have done better. I feel confident about doing a nice job tomorrow”.
Jaume Masia,
10th
We could have taken a better position. On my last exit, when I was trying to set a fast lap I found other riders in front of me and that has jeopardized my lap time. We need to take a look to our strategy to do it better on Q2. Tomorrow I will face a comeback race and let’s hope for a better situation”.
Dennis Foggia,
23rd
