Le0pard Racing achieves its 100th podium in the Moto3 World Championship as Ángel Piqueras takes his maiden one, crossing the finish line in 3rd place to end the Americas Grand Prix on a high, while Adrián Fernández finishes in 11th position:
- Cloudy skies and windy conditions greeted us for race day at the Circuit of the Americas.
- Le0pard Racing started today’s race from the fourth and sixth rows of the grid, with Adrián Fernández sitting in 11th and Ángel Piqueras in 17th, both having moved up one place due to another rider’s withdrawal.
- On a great start to the race, Adrián Fernández and Ángel Piqueras recovered several positions, both catching the leading group.
- Having already recovered fifteen places, rookie Ángel Piqueras sat in 2nd position when it was 12 laps to go, fighting for the podium places from the beginning of the race.
- Placed 7th after the first laps, Adrián Fernández pushed hard to move up as many places as possible before he had to serve a Long Lap Penalty and a Double Long Lap Penalty. With 9 laps to go he had completed them, sitting in 14th place.
- Ángel Piqueras kept fighting within the leading group, being overtaken and moved back to 5th towards the final stages of the race, but recovering to 2nd in the final laps.
- On another Moto3 last lap thriller, the overtaking didn’t stop until the very end, with Ángel Piqueras crossing the finish line in 3rd position separated by just 0.013 from the rider in front of him, taking his maiden podium in the class in only his third race, making it Le0pard Racing’s 100th podium.
- For his part, Adrián Fernández continued to push to make up as many places as possible, finishing today’s race in Austin in 11th position.
