Le0pard rider Jaume Masia has finished 3rd on the combined sessions of Friday at the Grand Prix of Austria, and teammate and winner of the last race Dennis Foggia has ended up the 12th.
A few days after the first victory of Dennis Foggia and the first of 2020 for the Le0pard Racing, the whole crew is in Austria ready to fight during the second weekend of this trio of races! Some clouds, light and heavy rain, humidity, but also high hopes and a successful track for Le0pard are the ingredients of this round. Needless to say we are working hard to get to our goals and seems that finally hard work is paying off.
Already this morning from the FP1 the team realized that it’s been an improvement from Brno. Jaume Masia set the 3rd fastest time and Dennis the 12th, and riders’ feelings on the bike were positive. The Italian has arrived to the Red Bull Ring as the latest and newest Moto3 winner: he admits feeling better on the bike and session after session his adaptation is getting to a very good level. As well as with Masia, who despite crashing some days ago when fighting for podium positions in Brno, today has been fast and competitive, but specially feels comfortable on the bike. Recent lap times show he’s fast and aggressive and this track could be the turning point for him.
In the afternoon, the session commenced with some clouds and after some laps rain flag appeared. Le0pard men entered to the box, wait a bit and when the surface was dry and safe, went out to push again. Masia and Foggia crossed the chequered flag of the FP2 as the 3rd and the 4th of that practice. At the end of the day, Masia has remained in that position and Foggia in the 13th.
Last but not least, a quick Le0pard sum-up to those who are curious at home: Dennis Foggia’s bike has been the fastest of today (218.6km/h), the Le0pard Racing has taken two victories in this track (2016, 2017) both by former rider and Le0pard World Champion Joan Mir, there’s another podium on our background (2018, Enea Bastianini), the pole position record belongs to Mir (2016, 1’36.228) and the record of the best race lap belongs to former rider and last Le0pard World Champion Lorenzo Dalla Porta (1’36.307). As you all can imagine, we like this circuit and we have fond memories here.
Stay tuned, let’s see how Saturday goes!
