Grand Prix of Germany: Sunday

Le0pard Racing completes the German Grand Prix with another difficult Sunday, in which both David Almansa and Adrián Fernández crashed out of the race:

  • Declared dry, today’s race had a challenging start in store for both Le0pard riders. David Almansa, from 2nd on the front row, went wide at Turn 1 due to a contact from another rider, dropping to 10th position. Adrián Fernández, meanwhile, sat 9th, coming from 6th on the grid.
  • The early stages of the race were difficult for the two Spaniards, specially for David Almansa, who was 13th with 15 laps to go. Adrián Fernández, on the other hand, was able to start pushing, moving up to 7th by then.
  • It would be on the next lap when Adrián Fernández crashed at Turn 3, losing the front following a clash that also caused him to lose the mudguard.
  • David Almansa continued to try to climb positions within a very crowded group. With 8 laps to go, the Spaniard suffered a crash at Turn 13, not being able to finish today’s race either.
  • Both riders are fine after their crashes today, which is the most important thing, and we will try again in Brno next week.
“First of all, I want to apologise to the team. After the incident in the first corner, when I came back to the racing line, I couldn’t find myself on the bike. I was struggling when taking the corners, not being able to ride as I always do. In spite of it, I tried my best on every lap, but I was unable to stick to the group in both Sector 1 and Sector 2. We will analyse everything that happened today in order to continue learning”

“It was another Sunday to forget. Although we worked well throughout the whole weekend, finding a good feeling no matter the conditions, bad luck struck us again during the race. We will try to start from scratch in Brno, because we really need this bad streak to end”
