Friday at Spielberg comes to an end with Adrián Fernández and Guido Pini in 14th and 16th positions respectively:
- Free Practice 1 got underway under cloudy skies this morning. Adrián Fernández was 3rd with a time of 1’41.289, while Guido Pini finished 9th with a 1’41.783.
- Securing a spot in Q2, Adrián Fernández set a 1’40.531 to finish Practice in 14th place. Guido Pini, on the other hand, will have to go through Q1 as he finished 16th, clocking a 1’40.662.
- Adrián Fernández has been handed a Double Long Lap Penalty due to causing a contact during today’s Practice.
“It was a positive day overall as the feeling with the bike has improved quite a lot. This morning we were missing some grip as it was a little colder on track, but we were able to secure a spot in Q2 in the afternoon. We still need to improve a few things, but we’re on the right track. We’ll keep approaching the weekend with confidence and a positive mindset.”
“The feeling was very good today, the problem is that we missed out on Q2. We were all very close and I missed out on going directly into it by a very small margin. It’s a shame because tomorrow we’ll have to go through Q1. We’ll have to make the most of the morning session to build up the pace and give it everything to make it through in qualifying!”
