Adrián Fernández secures second place at Jerez

Le0pard Racing completes the Spanish Grand Prix with Adrián Fernández stepping onto the podium in second place while Guido Pini crashes halfway through the race:

  • On a good start to today’s race, Adrián Fernández remained in 6th position, quickly moving up to 4th. Guido Pini, on the other hand, had a difficult start, but soon recovered, beginning to move up the field from 21st.
  • Adrián Fernández overtook for 3rd on Lap 3, while Guido Pini was already aiming for 17th. With a fast pace, the Spaniard closed the gap to the rider in 2nd, overtaking him a few laps later. The Italian kept pushing, already sitting in 15th place.
  • On Lap 7, Adrián Fernández took the lead of the race, which he held until the final stages, when he dropped back to 3rd again. Guido Pini, for his part, crashed out of the race at Turn 9, which prevented him from crossing the finish line today.
  • It was a tight fight until the chequered flag at the front. While the leader had opened up a gap, the battle for the podium intensified, with Adrián Fernández pushing to take a well-fought second-place finish today, his first podium of the season.
  • We can’t wait to see you in Le Mans in two weeks’ time!
“Celebrating a podium finish in front of my home crowd has been incredible. We’ve had a tough start to the season, with three difficult races where I wasn’t able to achieve better results. The fact that we’ve finally achieved it here in Jerez makes it even more special. As for the race, I tried to push when I was in the lead, but I knew Quiles had something more. The final laps of the race were really frantic, but we managed to stay focused and take home an important second place and our first podium of the season!”

“It’s been a very tough weekend right from the start. We had a difficult start to the race today, but we managed to fight our way back up the field bit by bit. When I was in 15th place, trying to catch up with the group ahead, I crashed at Turn 9. It’s a corner I’ve always found a bit tricky here at Jerez, and what happened was that I braked a little later than usual. We tried and gave our best until the end today. We have an important test coming up, so our eyes are already on it ahead of Le Mans!”
