Gran Premio de Argentina: Saturday

Le0pard Racing will start tomorrow’s race at Termas de Río Hondo from the second and fourth rows of the grid, with David Almansa in 4th and Adrián Fernández in 12th:

  • Cloudy skies and dry conditions greeted us this morning for Free Practice 2 at Termas.
  • Fastest on Friday, David Almansa had a difficult start to the day, crashing in his second run and finishing in 22nd position with a 1’48.394. Adrián Fernández, on the other hand, regained some confidence this morning as his feeling improved, showing a steadier pace to finish in 8th place with a time of 1’47.427.
  • The afternoon arrived with a dry Q2 despite the threat of rain. David Almansa pushed towards the end of the session, setting a 1’46.363 with which he will start from 4th tomorrow, his best grid result so far. Adrián Fernández, for his part, struggled during qualifying, clocking a 1’47.016 to sit 12th on the grid for tomorrow’s race.
  • We can’t wait for Sunday to arrive!
“I am very happy with today’s result. This morning I had a crash due to a mistake I made, but we were able to make up for it in qualifying. I was able to do a good first lap in Q2 in order to have a reference, and then I pushed hard in my second run, setting a faster time. I’m happy because I did it with a reference in front, but without catching any slipstream, which means we have the potential to face tomorrow’s race strongly. I’m really looking forward to it”

“Sometimes work is not rewarded, and that’s what happened today. We had a strategy for Q2, but it didn’t work out. Despite our starting position, today we were able to get a better feeling with the bike, which is always important going into the race. Once again, we accepted the challenge of starting from the fourth row. I will push and give my 100% to move up positions in order to be in the fight tomorrow”
