Friday at Sepang comes to an end with Adrián Fernández in 5th position and Guido Pini in 15th:
- Hot conditions greeted us today for Free Practice 1. Adrián Fernández was 11th with a time of 2’12.308, ahead of Guido Pini in 16th, who set a time of 2’12.632.
- Securing a spot in Q2, Adrián Fernández finished Practice in 5th place with the 2’11.589 he set on his first lap. Guido Pini, on the other hand, missed out on Q2 by 0.2s, placing 15th with a 2’12.301.
- See you tomorrow for qualifying day!
“It was a pretty positive day. I’m feeling really good on the bike, although physically I’m not at 100% due to a slight cold. For that reason, we agreed with the team to do just a few laps, go out and try to set a good time. And that’s exactly what we did. We also had the chance to try a different tyre setting, which we didn’t like as much, so we now have a clear idea of how we’re going to approach things tomorrow. I’m really happy with the team’s work, and ready for more!”
“Although we didn’t make it through to Q2, it’s been a pretty good day. I touched the green on my first lap of Practice and the lap was cancelled. It was a good lap that would have put me in the top 14, but, as I always say, we have to take the positives. Today went well, I was riding pretty fast, and the feeling on the bike is good. The goal tomorrow will obviously be to make it into Q2 and then qualify further up the grid, so we can make the rest of the weekend a little better than it has been so far. I’m sure we can take another step forward tomorrow!”
