Improving further in Q2, the Italian qualified 8th on the grid with a 1’35.809. Adrián Fernández also dipped into the 1’35s, finishing Q2 in 6th position after setting a time of 1’35.618.
- Tomorrow we’re racing!
“It was a bit of an unusual day. Free Practice 2 was held in wet conditions and the feeling wasn’t bad, but I think there was still room for improvement, especially in terms of rear-end feeling. Qualifying was a bit tricky too, as it was drizzling slightly, even though the track was dry. In any case, I’m really happy with how the bike felt during qualifying in dry conditions. Starting from sixth tomorrow is a good position to try to get a good result, whether it’s wet or dry.”
“It’s been a good one today! I felt really good in wet conditions this morning, right from the first lap. From there, we improved a little, although not enough to finish in the top three. Still, we finished sixth. I was expecting wet conditions for qualifying, but in the end, the track was already dry. It wasn’t easy to get through, but I managed to top Q1 with my last flying lap. In Q2, I was able to put together a really good lap. We wanted more, but we’ll start from eighth, which is still a good result. Tomorrow, if it rains, I think we can be really fast. If it’s dry, we’ll try to stay with the group in front for as long as possible and fight from there!”
