Grand Prix of Qatar: Saturday

Le0pard Racing will start tomorrow’s race at Doha from the third row of the grid with both Adrián Fernández and David Almansa, in 7th and 8th respectively:

  • Hot temperatures awaited this afternoon at the Lusail International Circuit.
  • Finding improvements to yesterday’s performance, both Le0pard riders set their best marks of the weekend by then in Free Practice 2. Adrián Fernández finished 2nd with a time of 2’03.629, while David Almansa did so in 13th with a time of 2’04.515.
  • As the sun went down, qualifying got underway for the two Spaniards, who successfully made it through Q1 in 1st and 2nd position. David Almansa set a time of 2’03.237 ahead of Adrián Fernández’s 2’03.617.
  • The time then came for Q2. Adrián Fernández set his best time early in the session, qualifying 7th with a time of 2’03.238. David Almansa, for his part, will start tomorrow from the 8th spot of the grid, clocking a 2’03.414 in today’s Q2.
  • We can’t wait to race!
“Yesterday we had a lot of problems, but today we were able to solve most of them. Everything went better today, and the most important thing is that we were able to make a big step forward compared to yesterday. I’m happy with the feeling I had in qualifying and with the work we have done. Tomorrow we’ll have to make up positions for sure, but above all I’m looking forward to enjoying the race!”

“Today we took a big step forward! I’m very grateful to the team for the huge work they always do, and especially the one they did today. We were able to find the feeling, being comfortable on the bike and regaining the confidence that allowed me to give my best. We could have qualified in a better position, but I couldn’t improve on my last flying lap. I’m happy and eager for tomorrow’s race!”
