Jaume Masià performs overtaking show to claim podium in Barcelona

What a race! The Catalan Grand Prix concludes with a great battle that lasted until the very last corner, with Le0pard rider Jaume Masià taking second position to claim his fifth podium of the season, while teammate Tatsuki Suzuki finished in 8th place today:
  • Le0pard Racing started today’s race from the second row of the grid, in 4th and 6th positions respectively, with Jaume Masià and Tatsuki Suzuki.
  • While the Spaniard had a great start to the race maintaining his starting position, the Japanese struggle a bit more, dropping down a few places.
  • The show was already on in the very first lap, when Jaume Masià began to overtake the riders in front of him, hitting the front for the first time 16 laps to go.
  • In the meantime, Tatsuki Suzuki battled it out in the following group, a very crowded one, to recover some positions.
  • The fight continued at the front, with Jaume Masià losing the lead but continuing to fight within the top five riders, where the overtaking didn’t stop for a second. He sat in the lead again, then in 4th, then in 2nd, then in 5th again, but always making solid and strong moves.
  • At the end, after a last-lap showdown, the Spaniard crossed the finish line in 2nd position to claim his fifth podium of the season, gathering 20 very important points for the Championship.
  • For his part, Tatsuki Suzuki, although he made it to the leading group in sixth position at one point, ended up finishing in 8th place.
  • Le0pard Racing now heads to Misano happy with the work done and eager for more!

I’m very happy, but it’s been difficult to manage, I was struggling on the straight with the slipstream in the last laps. I did my best to try to overtake Alonso too in the final corner, but in the end I couldn’t. After the last two races, this podium truly tastes like a victory. Now I’m hungry for more!”

It has been a difficult Sunday for me. I was expecting to be a bit more competitive. It’s true that we have made an improvement this weekend, but we are not yet where we should be. We will try again in Misano”
