Jaume Masia takes second step of the podium in Austria

Jaume Masia has taken 2nd position at the Red Bull Ring after a very tough battle for the victory. Bad luck for teammate Dennis Foggia, who has finished 20th.

It’s been a very positive weekend that has concluded with Jaume Masia on the second step of the podium! The Spaniard has taken his maiden rostrum position with the team, a super desired result. After the crash in Brno, the rider was determined on taking the best of this track and immediately felt good from Friday practice sessions. That made the team think that nice results were possible. Plus, we’ve been reminding that Le0pard Racing has fond memories at the Red Bull Ring as from 2016 until now, and including today’s result, the team has won two times (Mir 2016 and 2017) and has achieved the second spot twice (Bastianini 2018 and Masia 2020). Good news are that we are coming back next week to race here again.

Today Jaume Masia hasn’t been able to do the perfect start, but lap by lap has been pushing. From the moment he put himself in front, the young rider has been fighting for the lead most of the time. He’s been swapping positions and at the last lap he was first, but three corners left to the end, compatriot Arenas has overtaken him. In any case, a second position is a very good result that proves Masia’s adaptation and potential with his Honda. We expect that to be the first of many more!

The other side of the coin has been Dennis Foggia’s race. He hasn’t felt good from the beginning and has finally crossed the line the 20th.

After today’s result, Jaume Masia is the 8th on the standings (39 points) and Dennis Foggia occupies the 10th position (32 points). On its side, the Le0pard Racing is now the second on team’s classification (71 points, 37 far from the first).

Let’s keep the momentum, do not miss any detail as we’ll back in a week time!

I’m happy with this second position as it’s been a long time without podium results. Many thanks to the team for their job, this is very positive for the next races. I hope to continue like this”.
Jaume Masia,
2nd
It hasn’t been the race that I expected, I haven’t had good feelings with the bike. I’ll keep working and I’ll try to be fighting with the front group next week”.
Dennis Foggia,
20th
