Round 2: Circuito do Estoril

The second round of the Moto4 European Cup at the Circuito do Estoril came to an end for the Leopard Junior Team with back-to-back 2nd place finishes for Edoardo Savino, who was unable to fight in Race 2 due to a technical issue, finishing 20th. Ziven Rozul Abiy Salim tried his best in the Last Chance Race, finishing in 6th position, while Kevin Cancellieri was declared unfit on Saturday following a fracture to the scaphoid in his right foot, missing the next round in Jerez.

Edoardo Savino, 2nd (Race 1) | 20th (Race 2)
“The weekend started really well from Friday, as we immediately found a good pace and improved compared to the test. Despite a technical issue in Q2, the team did an amazing job solving it quickly, allowing me to secure 2nd position overall with only two laps. In Race 1, we fought at the front and managed to bring home another podium in 2nd place. Race 2, on the other hand, was more difficult due to a technical issue. Although we finished in 20th position, we were able to maintain a strong pace throughout the race, showing our potential. I want to thank the team, sponsors and my family for all their support. Our focus is already on Jerez!”

Ziven Rozul Abiy Salim, 6th (Last Chance Race)
“I would like to thank the team and my mechanics for all the hard work they have done this weekend. We couldn’t make it into the top 10 in Practice, then we made a small mistake in Q1. I’m sorry that I couldn’t give my best performance at Estoril, but I will keep working hard, hoping to do better in the next round. I can’t wait to see you in Jerez.”

Kevin Cancellieri, Unfit
“Unfortunately, the weekend did not start in the best way, as I was unwell and missed the first session on Friday. In Free Practice 2, following a crash, I injured my right foot. I tried again on Saturday morning, but further checks confirmed a fracture to the scaphoid in my right foot and I was declared unfit. I will unfortunately miss the next round in Jerez, but I’m already focused on recovery and coming back stronger. Thank you to everyone who supports me. See you in France.”
