Ángel Piqueras steps onto the podium in third place at Barcelona

The 2024 season comes to an end with a hard-fought race from both Le0pard riders, in which Ángel Piqueras took third to claim his fourth podium of the season while Adrián Fernández finished 11th:

  • Cool temperatures greeted us for race day of the Solidarity Grand Prix as Le0pard Racing started today’s race from the second and third rows of the grid, with Ángel Piqueras in 4th and Adrián Fernández in 7th.
  • On a tight start to the race, Ángel Piqueras dropped to 6th while Adrián Fernández remained in 7th place. The two Spaniards started to push and Adrián Fernández soon overtook to take the lead while Ángel Piqueras entered the podium fight sitting in 3rd.
  • The overtaking was continuous until the very end of the race within a very tight group. Adrián Fernández held onto the lead and, when overtaken, he gave it back. Ángel Piqueras, for his part, dropped some positions, but also recovered them.
  • Towards the end of the race, when it was 3 laps to go, Adrián Fernández was back in the front coming from 2nd, while Ángel Piqueras was pushing from 6th.
  • Adrián Fernández crossed the finish line in 3rd place, but was given a 3-second penalty due to a shortcut, finishing in 11th place at the end.
  • Ángel Piqueras, who finished 4th, moved up one position, stepping onto the podium in 3rd place to put the finishing touch to his rookie season, in which he has in fact been proclaimed Rookie of the Year in the lightweight class.
“It was the most difficult race of the season. It’s a track where I usually struggle, but we turned it around, doing a very consistent weekend. I’m happy to have been able to finish the season with a podium as a gift to my team, because it wasn’t easy, but we put all our efforts to make it work. I’m very grateful to this team for everything I’ve learned and for being incredible, both inside and outside the track”

“It was truly an incredible race, and it was fantastic that we could share it with our home crowd, racing here in Barcelona for Valencia. I gave everything during the whole race, fighting for the podium places, but I made a mistake at the end of it. This season has been a learning process that I’m very proud of, and I want to thank every single person in the team for this, for their huge support and for their hard work”
