Gran Premio dell’Emilia-Romagna: Saturday

Saturday of the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix comes to an end as Ángel Piqueras takes 3rd position to start tomorrow’s race from the front row, while Adrián Fernández will do so from 7th on the grid on the third row:

  • The sun welcomed us today for qualifying day at Misano.
  • Saturday kicked off in the morning with Practice 2, in which both Le0pard riders left it to their last lap to set their fastest lap times of the session.
  • Ángel Piqueras finished in 4th position with a time of 1’40.747, occupying the same place on the combined, while Adrián Fernández did so in 13th with a 1’41.218, sitting 11th on the combined with his 1’41.071 from yesterday’s Practice 1.
  • With both Spaniards going directly into Q2, a hectic afternoon got underway later in the day.
  • Pushing in his first run of Q2, Adrián Fernández qualified in 7th place with a time of 1’40.677. The Spaniard was improving on his last flying lap, but had it cancelled due to a yellow flag.
  • Ángel Piqueras, for his part, will start from the first row of the grid tomorrow, having taken 3rd position in today’s qualifying with the 1’40.460 he set on his last lap.
  • We can’t wait to race in Misano again!
“We achieved our goal today, which was to take a spot on the first or second row of the grid. I’m really happy with the feeling I have on this track, and we have a really good bike to face tomorrow’s race. As for the race, I think it will be more difficult, because everyone is going faster, and everyone will have the bike in place after two weekends here. I have no pressure, just a clear goal for tomorrow”

“We started the day with some difficulties as the feeling during the morning wasn’t similar to yesterday’s. Nevertheless, we’ve been able to solve it for qualifying. Tomorrow we will start from the third row of the grid, which is not a bad result, although I would have liked to qualify better. In any case, I’m confident towards the race because we have prepared a lot for it during the weekend”
